It has been three years since The Wettest Link was filmed, and it felt like high time I revisited the original project files to see what might be done to enhance them for the movie's re-release. The WMV version of the original was created with a bitrate of merely 2,100 kbps so the picture was blocky in a number of places. The video has now been recreated and reconverted with a bitrate of 3,500 kbps (update: actually, it's 4,000 kbps), so almost all of those unwanted artifacts in the image have disappeared. While I was at it, I made small adjustments to the colour, brightness and sound, lifting them all a little to give a brighter and more vibrant picture. The result looks so much better than the original, but it comes at a price. In order to raise the bitrate to an acceptable level, the file had to be split into two parts. The Wettest Link will be re-launched in a day or two, with part 2 (where all the peeing action takes place) being a little more expensive than part one, because I suspect most buyers will only purchase part 2.
It has been fun to revisit this project. It was one of the two most risky ventures I have undertaken, with a production cost in excess of $6,000. It took a while but I did eventually recover the outlay and make a profit. Now, in the tradition of the big film companies who re-release their wares in the hope of making a little more, The Wettest Link is reborn!
