Just watched "Holding Contest 19"

That was really one of the best. The star of that movie is without a doubt Jasmine - her desperation is so acute, so well played, you just can't help liking her. She really outdid herself this time, pushing herself so hard, she just has this great way of conveying to the viewer the *feeling* that she is just about to die of desperation any minute now.

What I really would like to see more is girls in more comfortable clothing - short loose skirts (cheerleader-style), or even sweatpants - and girls holding themselves *hard*, little-girl style, with the finger really pressing where it counts. Jasmine does that a little bit, but seems so shy doing it, as if it's inappropriate, and besides the tight mini skirt gets in the way. I say - just do it I would really like to see Jasmine in more natural clothing doing what girls in dire emergencies do more naturally, and the real top of my wish list is the serious holding between the legs. I'd buy any movie that shows this realistically.

Actually, clothing like that worn in her videos is (for the most part) precisely what Jasmine wears when she goes out. In general, I select clothes that really flatter a girl's figure to make her look as sexy as possible. I have found that going after specific tastes (many people write to me with their own particular slant on a situation) is unwise in terms of maximizing the appeal. I recall putting several models in a short loose skirt in the past, including Taylor, but it did nothing at all for sales. Videos of situations where her skirt is short and tight have tended to sell a lot better.

As for crotch holding/finger pressing, it's largely down to the individual. Some of them do it fairly freely, but others do indeed find it inappropriate. I don't press them into doing things they don't really like to do. Interestingly, in cases where a model does use her finger a lot, I get messages saying how unrealistic it is because she would never do that in front of someone else in real life. Fact is, whichever way it goes, someone will always want something different. It's the golden rule, if you'll pardon the obvious pun.

Please no instructions in how models should react to their desperation. That would kill the 'reality' of the videos completely. In fact, that would be little more than acting a part, and there are plenty of rubbish Japanese videos where the models seem to think (or more likely are told) that over exaggeration is the way to go.

It worries me when people describe a finger on the pee-hole as "little girl" style. I am not keen on seeing grown women pretending to be little girls, with all the implications that might be included.

The wonderful thing about humans is that we are all different, and that means we all have our own way of holding our pee which has built up over our lifetime. It is that natural-ness which makes Dave's videos so appealing.

Real life situations where you see grown women holding their crotch are few and far between, but they are much more frequent where hands begin to stray in that direction, and then are taken away to save drawing attention to the predicament. It is an emotional battle between what they might do in private and how subtly they can invent non-attention-seeking alternatives in public. Yes I know I am a bit weird but I prefer my imagination to do some of the work.

Hey Dave,

I don't quite see why you're getting all defensive when someone makes a suggestion or tells their personal preferences with respect to clothing, scenarios or acting. I mean, isn't what this board is all about? Of course you're under no obligations to do anything anyone suggests. I do think however that because everyone has such diverse tastes, you need to experiment a little more than you've been doing recently.

You had some brilliant ideas in the past, for example the "wettest link" video and the "permission to pee" idea when it first came out, just to name two. Other times, you picked up on ideas you weren't so keen on but worked out well. I seem to recall that you once wrote that you objected to the "holding it for hours" format that was suggested by a reader (or perhaps commissioned as a custom, I don't recall), and it ended up being a big success and produced a few sequels before the novelty wore off (and before the HD format made long movies impractical). On the other end of the spectrum, you often said that your very own personal taste - the bondage desperation - seems to have very little following. My point is that you never know what's going to work and what's not.

As for the hard-crotch-holding, I didn't suggest you should give your models acting instructions. I was thinking that Jasmine herself might be reading here occasionally and maybe consider trying this in a future movie. Who knows, it might work.

Sorry Mpee3, I wasn't trying to upset you with any comments. It is just that the main 'plus' with Dave's videos is that the models are relaxed and presumably behave as close to reality as they can. Dave has mentioned a number of times that he takes great trouble in making the models feel 'at home' and not under any pressure to do things they might not want to do.

I understand that some women will resort to crotch holding at times, but I see that as a last ditch (sorry if I am using UK terminology) effort to avoid pissing themselves. And I know that everyone has their own tastes which are not always approved of by others. In fact I agree with you about the loose clothing, especially skirts and dresses, but as few others seem to like that then I am content to watch whatever sells best, and if that is tight skirts, high heels or tight jeans, then so be it.

I don't think Dave was being defensive - he was just explaining the situation how it is. At least he has the patience to deal with our myriad of requests and try them out sometime without knowing if he might break even on a video set.

My main worry is that if models are encouraged to hold themselves, how will we know that it is realistic or only what the women think is necessary? It annoys me to purchase a video only to find that the entire clip is of a woman walking around with a hand jammed between her legs. What used to amaze me with Jayne was that she could hold a tremendous amount of pee (judging by the occasions when it was measured) and yet she rarely held herself. To me this was even more exciting when watching on subsequent occasions after already knowing how much was sloshing around inside her. But I am beginning to ramble now, so had better stop.
