I watched "Holding Contest 7", and I must say Dave - this is one of your greatest movies ever.
What I love to see most is genuine extreme desperation, and in this movie, Rachael was so absolutely determined to win, that she held on for dear life even though Carissa had drunk much less and appeared not as bad off. I've seen many of your movies but have never seen Rachael so desperate - she was in such agony she almost in tears, bent over and holding her hand over her mouth as if she was going to throw up. She really held it until it was just not possible to hold any longer, and when she finally released it, she exploded with such force, she was panting and shivering - a truly display of desperation that you just can't fake.
I really felt bad for her because I wanted her to win, but instead we got a bonus of really having her hold up until she just couldn't take it any more - really held it up to the last possible second, all because of her effort to win. Great work, great movie.
Some thoughts for future competitions:
- Have the girls drink small, fixed amounts, in fixed time intervals (every 5 or 10 minutes). In this competition pretty much every girl drank as much as she wanted, there was no control over it and no fairness. Some girls drank more than the others.
- I would have preferred to have a more leveled ground - all start off empty, all drink the same amount, etc. I realize this is a problem with the bondage shoots you do in the middle.
- And last but not least: ask the girls talk about their experiences shooting other movies for B2B! I loved Rachael's recounting of the tale of her contest with Jayne. Have them talk about past movies - what was it like for them, how they felt, how did it look from their side. These are cool stories to hear, very genuine (because we can see the movie), and it would function as a great promotion for past movies. For example, I would LOVE to hear Rachael tell the story of "Airport Run" movie (another extreme desperation one) from her point of view, that would really do it for me. And perhaps there are other great past movies which I don't know about. Ask the girls to tell abount a movie in which they really were in serious trouble, and why. I'd go and buy a past movie if it was promoted in this manner.
I hope you do more of these contests in the future (doens't have to be 5 girls, 3 could be great as well).
