Pressure in the cabin!

Just a thought prompted by a short flight I made just before christmas.....

The flight time was just under an hour, she was travelling alone, and had struck up a conversation with the person sitting in the next seat. They had quite a bit in common so the time past very quickly, and before they knew it the seat belt sign came on for landing, alone with the usual announcement that the toilets were now out of service (i.e. next oppotunity to go would be in aiport arrivals).

This suddenly reminded her of all that coffee she had been drinking whilst waiting to board the plane, and although she expected to be able to hold it until getting there, it dawned on her that it could be a challenge. She carried on chatting, but started to squirm during the descent, and fairly soon was getting really desperate but had no choice but to hope for the best! Will she make it......

Not sure if this would work as a mock up situation (or maybe its been done), but I love the concept!

Thanks Dave, maybe if the only props were just two ordinary chairs, and the rest was just role play acting with voiceover cabin announcements - that would do it for me!

another thought....lots of scope for delaying tactics too , maybe the plane has to wait for a landing slot in a 'holding' pattern (excuse the pun!), and once on the ground maybe everyone has to wait onboard for the exit steps to arrive as there's a problem getting hold of them.No chance of leaving her seat as everyone is waiting in the aisles having got their hand luggage from the overhead lockers! All in the imagination of course (just think of all those people trying not to stare at her predicament)....also maybe she could get up to go before the seat belt light goes on but there's a queue for the loo and the stewardess tells her to return to her seat!
Maybe these things could be part of the conversation and leave the rest to the imagination!

You could try shooting it at night! Then:

1. Try and just light the performers so that we can't see much of the background (keep it dark!). Filter the light(s) so that it's not too harsh.
2. Stick to close-ups and mid-shots at most. Angle so we're never looking down what would be the gangway. Don't worry about establishing visual context. And put a little curtain up to cover the airplane "window"!
3. Overdub the sound effects - plane engine noise, cabin ambiance. Maybe the pilot wishing the passengers a pleasant journey (and a good-night maybe - this is obviously an overnight flight!)

Nice idea, love it! - perhaps could then shine the reading light (spotlight!) on that gorgeous squirming crotch area and tight jeans!
