Old videos vs. new

I received an e-mail today which I would like to share with you all and invite comments. Is what the author writes your perception too?

But lately, the videos are all straight up "pee" videos, and the desperation element seems to have disappeared entirely. As a result I haven't been buying any videos lately and have been going to other sites (even though they generally don't have the high production value, lighting, camera work, etc. that sets your videos above the pack).

I am really missing some of your old work! My all-time favorite video is The Interpreter, but I also enjoyed the League of Desperate Ladies (almost all of them), the Elevator Desperation videos, and others. The models from a few years back also seemed more "genuine" and girl-next-door than some of the recent models who, while very beautiful, strike me as more "professional" and less believable.

Are the old-style videos coming back? Or are they just too much work to produce and maybe don't sell well enough to justify? The Interpreter seemed like a pretty simple setup (maybe it was because Beverly was a natural actress?) so I'd definitely be buying a re-make of that with another model. Maybe there are other lurkers like me out there waiting to buy in?

I feel like you were making great art for a long time there and really owning the niche, but it seems now more...commercial. Still thankful for all of your work over the years, but wanted to let you know there are some of us out there that really appreciated the old style too.

I have to agree with this author. The old videos had more storyline and the models, aside from seeming more genuine, were also more attractive. I particulary enjoyed Jayne and Jynx.

I painfully have to agree with this author. I have always liked the desperation theme where you keep the lovely lady waiting as long as possible to release the inevitable. Capacities/holding for hours/ time to go series. I especially like it when you coach the model to keep waiting. One of my absolute favourite ones you did this was lily. She would start leaking and you would make her wait just my opinion. I always have been and always will be a huge fan of your work! Cheers!

I don't have too many storyline type movies personally, so I can't give a broad opinion on those. In general though I've been impressed by the performances of the models, especially considering they aren't trained actors. Many of the models Dave hires are very popular and in high demand by bondage and niche fetish sites. That's not just because they're attractive, it's because they're very good at what they do. I think it's only in the last few years, whilst looking at content elsewhere, that I've come to appreciate more the quality of work many of the models are capable of.

I tend to prefer realistic and more subtle desperation to more histrionic performances, that's just me though. It depends on the model though and they all bring their own style. Some are naturally a bit more dramatic anyway, and a lot of fun to watch.

My favorite type of videos are those where the model is just being themselves, with Dave encouraging them to wait as long as possible until the inevitable. Lately that would be ones like the naked waits.. yes, I enjoy nudity.

I do miss the (often quite long) out and about type of movies where Dave would take the model out in the car and get them into a desperate state, and with Jayne even going around busy stores whilst she was on the verge of flooding herself. Theses movies consume a lot of time to produce though I suppose, plus where are we going to find a model as daring as Jayne was!

I think I've posted a few times over the years my preference to more scenario styled videos, maybe not quite as directly as in that email but still .

I definitely find them more enjoyable, and actually, in the long run more re-watchable. Once you have a couple of hours or so of a 'stand and deliver' type video from a model, its very difficult for any further footage of that type to be much different (aside from the ending). Scenario based videos can certainly give a lot more variety, but that hasn't been what people have wanted over the past few years judging by sales.

The author of the email definitely has one thing right - there really isn't anything that matches the old styled videos in production quality even to this day (at least not in English). I've always accepted the fact that the 'stand and deliver' type videos were selling better, but if that's changed, I'm all for more scenario videos if you are up for for filming them

I do have to agree with you Dave, I'm not sure bringing back the hugely long videos would be the best way to go. As good as some of the really long 'All day' type videos could be, the price on something like C4S would probably be too high and the file sizes might get annoying. I don't know - do you get much 'behind the scenes' footage anymore? Wonder if you could have a more lengthy type video for the B2B site whilst creating a cut down/more 'core' video for C4S - probably more hassle than its worth though...most likely best to start small and see how sales react IMO. And as you have just posted - you have a lot more other content to shoot nowadays for other sites - though maybe more cross-overs could happen now given how much scenario driven those sites seem to be.

I think it's probably fair to say you're more commercial these days in the way you run your shoots - I think you film more movies in a day and no doubt that helps financially. I can't really say whether that impacts the quality of the content, but it does lead to shorter movies because you can squeeze in a quick F2P movie if the model isn't quite ready for a B2B movie. I think you're right that there is little demand for long movies these days anyway, and I don't often have time to watch anything more than about 30 minutes.

I think we used to see more multi-model shoots in the olden days. I guess amateur models are easier and cheaper to book, but many of the best scenario movies had two or more models. Is the situation now just a reflection of single model movies being more profitable?

I see other sites getting good results with movies where the model is (gently) tortured while desperate to pee, either by a second model or by the cameraman via challenges. I guess Vonka's latest shoot is similar in some ways, and it sounds like it's selling well. Might we see more of this in future?

I'd say nudity is more common these days as well among your competition. I would welcome more nudity on B2B but I know some others wouldn't, so I guess you just need to find the balance. For me though, this is one big area where B2B has improved versus the early years.

Finally, I feel like there has been less new B2B content since you moved away from movie sets. Is that true or just my perception?
