Chargebacks & Refunds after receiving goods purchased

Postby Bound2Burst » 07 Feb 2016, 11:53

Just want to make myself clear on this point since there have been several of these today. If you perform a chargeback on any purchase, or demand a refund from Verotel for goods you have clearly downloaded, you will be banned for life, so be very sure you don't want any more of my movies before you do this. Not only do I ban you at my end, but I request that Verotel bans you and reports you to their fraud screening company. This just happens to be the same company used by Clips4Sale and a number of other adult producers out there, which means you may find yourself unable to make purchases from a number of sources.

I threaten from time to time to publish a list of people who commit fraud - real names, addresses, etc., so maybe I should start that list now. It would increase the risk that not only will your family and friends discover what you purchase, but also that you are a dishonest person. Who knows, when your name comes up in a Google search associated with adult content and fraudulent activity, it may even have an impact on present or future employers. Now wouldn't that be a shame.

Hi Dave,

While I understand your frustration, I think you are overreacting. Banning the offenders and reporting them to Verotel is fine and well within your rights, but publicly publishing a blacklist can get you in legal trouble. They can sue you for defamation or libel or whatever it is called in the U.S., and they will win the case (you cannot prove anything, even if a charge was made with a CC), and even if you'll win, the legal fees alone will bankrupt your business. Venting here on the forum is also fine and good, but I doubt very much that the offenders will ever read it. Chalk everything up as cost of doing business, and move on. They are not worth getting so upset about.

(For the record, I once had a download problem while making a purchase from this site. I contacted Dave and he immediately solved the issue for me. I never even thought about doing a chargeback).

I know what you're saying and you are right, but I am also a stubborn person who will not sit still for people abusing the system. I am talking repeat offenders - they charge back on Clips4Sale and then try their hand in my stores, and get all indignant when I catch them out and ban them.

While there may only be a handful of people who post in the forum, quite a lot of visitors view it so I think at least some of the offenders will see this post.

As for getting sued, take a look at this page which has been up for years.

Well done Dave. You stick to your guns, and if they try and sue you for publishing a list we will have to start a crowd funding page to pay your bills.

I hate people who want everything for nothing, and I bet they are the first to complain if they get overcharged at any point.

As a naive trusting soul, I had no idea that people did try to download videos and then get their money back, but they seem to be a pretty low form of life if they think the genuine purchasers should subsidise them.
