Sets and Discounts

I think the time has finally come to drop movie sets and release individual clips only. With a few exceptions, sales of sets have slowly declined over the past few years, to the point where they no longer justify the amount of disc space they use. This is almost certainly caused by customers liking the look of one or two of the clips but not all three or four; understandable enough since various tastes have been catered for in sets.

Fear not, it will still be possible to get a discount on multiple purchases. In the absence of sets and their typical 20% off over purchasing the same clips individually, the store discounts will be adjusted to align with those on Beauties in Bondage where sets have never been offered and storewide discounts are bigger. This frees up the customer to choose exactly what they wish to buy without losing the price advantage.

Another benefit of removing sets is that individual clips will be published at a bitrate of 4 Mbps instead of 3.5 Mbps, brining the quality up to that of the MP4 versions published on Clips4Sale. I do not plan to add the MP4 format to the store or I will be back in the same situation of eating disc space at an alarming rate (the store runs on a dedicated server and disc space is limited to one terabyte); in any event, far more buyers still choose WMV over MP4 on C4S and the situation would probably be the same however the sales were made.

There will not be an update during the first week of June, but by the middle of the month you should be seeing a holding contest with three or four models (depending on how many show up) which will also be a quiz, where the girls get to torture one another for your delight. The intended line up is Cadence, Kobe, Hannah and Cali.

You could always have made it so purchasing a set is equivalent to several single purchases. That is, you don't need to store a separate .zip file for a set; buying a set simply means access to 3 (or however many) single movie downloads.

But of course store-wide discounts are even better for us customers

Mind if I ask why the server is limited to 1TB? Do you have the server in your house or are you renting space from a third party? I'm an IT guy and maybe we can come up with a better solution. Also kind of related, the website seems kind of outdated, it would be pretty easy to give it a refresh. Not that I'm complaining. Lol

It's a dedicated server hosted by Dreamhost. Sure, I could add another but it's expensive and I'd rather avoid that if I can. I would never have a server at home since it would be a security nightmare; I'd much sooner leave that to those who know what they are doing.

The site may be outdated but I really can't be hassled with a redesign. I know WordPress would provide a relatively easy solution, but the though of porting everything over is just depressing. I've done enough problem fixing over the years and don't really want to take on any more.
