More on the issue scenarios vs. non-scenarios

Postby Bound2Burst » 25 Apr 2014, 07:29

I think the initial sales of Cadence and Laci movies makes my point very clearly. The histogram below shows the relative sales of the individual clips only, not the set. In order of popularity, we have nudity with no storyline (Naked Wait 23), clothed with no storyline (Desperation Quiz) and clothed with a storyline (Make You Wet Yourself). This trend is the reason for the changes here in the past few months.

It's interesting because the storyline clips make the bulk of the business in the Bib site, while realistic ones are not so popular.
Now i'm not a b2b buyer because i frequent the sister site (bib), yet i like scenario driven movies because they contain the "embarassement" and desperation thing which is obviously lost in realistic clips in wichh the final peeing is a triumphal moment especially if abundant. Yet i lately watched also reality clips because of the the playful atmosphere. I like the holding contests, for example or the quiz clips. It's a pity that this particular clip (make you wet) didn't sell as well. The storyline is pratically realistic and we see the girls changing clothes and wetting sexy outfits. You won't see that elsewhere.

I don't think you really need to justify your decisions Dave :P. But at least you care enough to provide evidence.

I would argue though, isn't desperation quiz also a scenario movie? Yes it might not have a storyline but it's at least the models doing something other just standing there. That for me is enough of a 'scenario', no need to get the models to act or add in bondage. It's just...there is only so many times you can ask "so do you have any stories" in one movie set :D Then most of remainder of the movie(s) turns into awarkard silence/laughter :P

Oh yeah, while statistics don't lie, also just want to point out that it's kind of different when it's a multi-model shoot. If there are two models with no scenario then at least they 'play off' each other. When it's a single model shoot you get what I described above IMO.

Indeed, and having taken pains to justify it I went ahead and filmed some more scenarios anyway. Even if I pay for it, it is simply more fun to do. Having just voided my entire argument, I shall now get on with my day.

Thanks for sharing Dave, it's really interesting to see the difference in sales between scenarios and straightforward holding movies. A quick look at your Clips4Sale rolling top 5 movies tells a similar story.

I can't think of any other websites that offer movies without a scenario, with just a model (or two) being paid to hold their pee as long as they can. I also can't think of any other websites that have their models naked and desperate to pee, I guess partly because that's difficult to fit into a believable scenario. So I'd say you have both those markets cornered right now, and long may it continue!

I think you're taking the right approach maintaining variety on the website. You clearly set up Bound2Burst out of a love of the subject matter rather than as a business to make you rich. I hope the non-scenario movies provide income so you can continue to hire great models and film a few movies that are more risky financially but that you just enjoy making.

I think pcwp is right that the best non-scenario movies are the ones where there is some interaction, either with multiple models or between you and the model. You need something to encourage dialogue when the models get really desperate and (quite understandably) go quiet. I know you've said before that the extra sales from a two-model movie don't generally cover the costs of the second model, so maybe that's not a helpful comment!

Anyway, I hope if you continue to focus on making movies that sell in good numbers then we can all enjoy Bound2Burst for many years to come.
